puzzles me. When you told me to do myself a favor and have one of “those” beers at Monks Cave, and right before I ordered it I found it had 15% alcohol. What kind of favor was that that I was about to do for myself?
Drink a lovely beer I suppose. I don’t remember what beer it was. A La Chouffe maybe? I think they have it on tap there, and it would be like me to recommend it if I noticed it on tap. I always find them tasty, and after 6 or 7 of them I’m pretty relaxed. That’s probably it. But who knows, my brain doesn’t work so well these days.

Just a quick drop in to see how folks are doing today … we’re in full sticky July mode here with temp of 92 (32) and dewpoint of 73 (23) today. Hoping for that 50% (coin toss) chance of storms tonight here, not only to cool things down, but also provide more much needed rain…
Sounds like similar weather abounds elsewhere today, so everyone take it easy and keep the cooling breezes and drinks going … later, folks.

It’s about 70° here today. Pretty nice.
That’s the good news. The bad news is, my granddaughter got invited to go to the local water park. Good thing they have some non-water rides, ’cause that water’s going to be mighty cold today.

If this weather pans out the way it looks, probably won’t even turn on the computer tonight, given the watch details just posted for the area… looks to be lots of rain, lightning and potentially high winds.. great… just in time to wreck the garden, lol!
If I don’t see you and the others in the FBL tonight, I’ll have to catch up tomorrow… and I feel like this will be one of those conk out early nights unless the weather really does get as dramatic as it currently looks…. take care up there and channel some of FM’s ice cream….
Already above predicted high here — was supposed to be high of 81, but last check of the Weather Widget had us at 82, go figure.
Trying to get myself motivated to do some assorted housework; would like to get at least one more pantry shelf organized (did the top shelf yesterday). It’s tough though when it’s this warm.

just to say go for the Thai! I’m very fond of the padh thai, lad nar and other noodle dishes, though my favorite Thai place here does an angry catfish that comes sizzling from the kitchen so angry you expect IT to bite you! (And it does when you eat it, in a more metaphorical way.)
Sorry you spent the day in a beige room… I know those only too well, though these days I spend mine in a refrigerated cubicle where I’m forced to run a space heater when it’s 90+ outside!
Oh and don’t forget to drink a Singha or two with dinner… yummmmm. Maybe we should poll for multicultural food types we can search out for the Oct 7 get together? I remember eating at some nice Thai places in Chicago, though I don’t remember where! (and don’t ask why….)

And I’d sure love to get to meet you in person along with everyone else… oh and btw, read in a thread last night that CBtY has been having poison ivy? Couldn’t remember the name of the stuff then, but it came back to me that you can get this cream called Zanfel that reputedly knocks the stuff right out and takes the itch away and heals it really fast. C’s mom recommended it to us, and we got a tube just in case… the kicker is the sticker shock… about $35 at Walgreen’s, but it’s a big tube and would likely last through many outbreaks. Maybe you can file that one away for future episodes….

Only low 90’s here but atrocious humidity.. but that’s all about to change in a matter of about 20 more min I estimate… I’m on my way out of the ICEcube and on my way home as soon as C gets here to pick me up.
Don’t forget the protein element with your ice cream… I’d suggest pate de chocolat on brioche. That ought to make you damn near pass out from sugar overdose, lol.

No beer — I’m pooped and I’ve still got work to do but I had a very good spicy bean thread salad, a spring roll and some shumai.
My favorite thai restaurant in Chicago was wiped out by a hotel renovation but I’m sure we can find another. I’m also very fond of Cafe Luciano but I’d be up for trip to the Greek Islands.
As long as frog legs aren’t on the menu, the dogs and I are okay with Thai.
Since being in the pond, it’s just seems wrong to eat frogs legs.
