It’s 3 guys in business casual beating the shit out of a printer to a rap beat. Absolutely golden.

I’m not going to a tech firm, which is where the guys in ‘Office Space’ were working at. Probably close enough, though.

And I’ve never said I’m ‘looking forward’ to it…at least not the hours.

One can look forward with dread.  I often do these days.

tech was golden.  I was in tech and I (to quote my uncle) made really good money for a woman!  Then the bottom dropped out and all of us older folks got dropped.  Now we can go back as “contractors” making a third of what we had made.  Very ingenous way to cut costs right?

My problem is I haven’t done anything techie for over four years.  When I gave my resume to a friend she said, but you don’t have your current education on your resume.  I wondered what she meant.  But then I realized: I don’t WANT to put my recent education on my resume.  For part of it was the “Priestess Process” which I am SURE will not earn me points on the techie scale!  Nor will the selling from Mary Kay or the Holographic Repatterning courses.  I was truly trying to get away from techie!  But not successfully learning another trade unfortunately.  (I cannot sell!)

But I loved office space.  It truly depicted the never never land of work in America.

Are you sure that’s a printer and not something more important like some sort of vital hard drive? Because everybody wants to beat the shit out of printers and they’re cheap anyway. At our local Geekfair (what? you don’t have one in your town?) you can beat up printers with various objects (bats, sledge hammes, pipes, etc.) for a small fee and they ALWAYS have a line of customers.

It was a printer.  Earlier in the movie, they had a lot of trouble getting it to print correctly.

As for printers on the whole, it’s not so much that printers are cheap, though they are.  Ink is so outrageously expensive that 2 cartridges doesn’t cost much less than just buying a new printer with ink included.  I have no idea what the industry margins are, but it’s pretty clear the majority of profit comes from selling ink.
