All quiet on the western front. It’s been a beautiful day. Life is good.
What area are you in? It was GORGEOUS here in Los Angeles today. Blue skies, not too hot, sparkling blue ocean. Days like this I remember why I moved back!
Ventura. I’m in a part of town that is basically a wind tunnel so we’re getting clear breezes instead of smoky fallout from the Camarillo fire.
I’m really spoiled. I don’t think I could live anywhere else but CA beach towns, since that’s all I’ve really known.
You ARE spoiled. Ventura is beautiful, and I love that Spanish downtown. Used to head up there more often, when my car was younger and oil prices lower. Now, I have to have a really good reason – it’s just too far, and too expensive. And besides – I only have to drive to Malibu to see dolphins! 😉
Tired of Bush’s & the Repugnant’s Lies?
Been working on campaigns and will spend most of tonigh designing a brouchure for blockwalking.
and I will use spell check on the brochure. LOL
Well, responding to a good idea I’d read today about how to get back at Disney for PT911, I gathered up all the Disney crap in the house. There were hats, keychains, dolls, gizmos, and videos. I placed them all in a pile at the entrance to the Disney store at a nearby mall. I left a sign on top of the pile that read “Boycott Disney.”
Lots of people saw me do it. Some asked what I was doing and I told them the I was boycotting Disney because they have chosen to try to rewrite history for political reasons and are trying to brainwash their viewers with PT911. Most people seemed to understand, though I did hear one voice mutter “goddamned liberals.” But I actually felt pretty good about what I did. So now I’m rewarding myself with a Margarita and some downtime.
Fantastic!!! Wow, what a great idea. And so simple, too. I’ll bet you got attention, indeed. Yummm. Enjoy that Margarita.
Me, I just finished updating a calculator that will HOPEFULLY help us determine the level of mandatory hand count audits needed to detect x amount of fraud in any county in CA. If this works, I’ll provide it to anyone who wants it so they can put in their counties in their state, and use it as well.
I’ve sent it off to Kathy Dopp of the National Election Archive (uscountvotes.org, NOT .com or .net) since she’s “the” audit expert on our side. Hopefully I got it right this time…
My knee hurts, so I’m headed to the pool and jacuzzi.
Wow Real History Lisa,
Your project sounds very important. I am VERY interested in ensuring fair elections, though I must admit, I am very pessimistic that we can ever have one after Diebold sinking its fangs into our process.
I’ve written a lot about election fraud. If you have links or info from organizations about what they’re doing and where, please post it or at least post links. That would really be great, and helpful.
Good luck with your calculator/calculations.
Hey, she liked it! Kathy Dopp approved, hurrah! If anyone wants a copy, email me and I’ll send a copy back to you. Easily adapted to other states….
Today, I went canvassing for Patrick Murphy. I know it’s a wee bit long, but I’m trying to provide these ground reports so people are more aware of what’s actually going on firsthand. Hopefully, y’all enjoy it!
For now, I gotta get back to studying.
This is a very good piece by Pat Lang; short, succinct, and hard hitting.
Would that there were influential politicians who had the courage to express themselves by speaking the truth this way.
I’m too lazy to search for other references to this here, but it was news to me, so thought I’d share it:
The Bolton photo over at Steve’s site somehow seemed a Bizarro version of Captain Kangaroo. Maybe its time for me to get some sleep;-)
It rained this morning. Started as a heavy fog and eventually condensed into real droplets. People and animals paused, looking skyward as if the moist breath of God meant his face was just above us through the fog.
That and I bought some pet apple snails – perfect pets for the lazy.
My camera used for the painting diaries is dying, a very modest Samsung, after only just over a year of service. The Nikon that I bought today, for the exact same price that I paid for the Samsung($129.00), is very impressive indeed. What was I thinking when I bought that Samsung?
Hidey ho there neighboreenos…
Might just be my old computer but the story on the main page with bin Laden’s 98 fatwa ends with center justified text and everything after that (on the main page) is also center justified.
Paaaax
Went to a workshop on making medicinal teas, then a harvest festival at an old friends’ farm with some other relics of my youth (and we are looking mahvelous!), then to lend a neighbor’s housemate two red t-shirts for some sort of charity walk (I have FIVE of them not counting tank tops or long sleeved numbers), then to the co-op for free movie night-The Battle for Algiers-damn great movie! Then home to a sewing project and you dear froggies.
