Dkos pin up boy and wine and cheese warrior fave Wesley Clark has written the bloodiest paragraph of the new century (thanks for pointing it out, Miss Devore), published Sunday in the Neocon Washington Post. Here’s how he starts his assault on Iran scenario, illustrations added:
Finally, and not that I think you need a reminder:

cool diary. In fairness, I’m not sure he was advocating this, just explaining it.
as usual (and of course it’s intentional) he has the “I’m just describing” exit. But there’s that cocktail talk relish and warriorwonk detail in his description of how it ‘would’ go down . . .
Yeah, exactly — too much strategic warrior-talk and not enough reference to what the pictures show… the very real human consequences of that strategy… especially when no need to take those extreme and devastating measures actually exists. Any explanation of that kind of far-sweeping military strategy that doesn’t include the human cost — or worse, blames that cost on the Iranian government for not bending to US demands — is not an honest explanation.
That’s the part about Wesley Clark that’s always made me uncomfortable — the hawkish Iran-must-not-get-nukes-no-matter-what attitude (that sounds as though he took his talking points from the Bush Administration), and that is in conflict with all the evidence available so far from the UN investigators and inspectors.
I have to tell you that I loved him in 04 and as time has eluded, I have become weary of him and how he does say things. I am questioning his backing of hillary. I know he is clinton’s friends, but then where do you stop this madness that has gotten ahold of our leadership every which way you turn. I am nauseated by it all…every one of them and their mightier than thow attitude.
I posted a diary earlier on this, and posted it on daily kos, where I was mostly abused, with over 100 comments. I did get some backing though, and this video was sited:
Yes, I was going to say that Clark knows a lot about air war, given that he started one.
and bloodlessly about how he’d (no, I mean ‘they’) would do the next one. All ya gotta do is add pictures!
even for the now largely politically cleansed. Hope you, weasel, and Marie will hold out. Be aware there are also easier-going places like booman and politicalfleshfeast.
While you rightly show the evil of war, I think you may have missed the point of the Iran war comments by Clark. I think he was making the point that the idiots who gave us Iraq have already started to give us Iran, and the paragraph you quote is how the war criminals Bush and Cheney will begin it.
Just like in the lead up to our Iraq invasion, if it looks successful he can say he was in early if it turns out a disaster he can say i told you so. It’s a despicable practice but soft love from the media and the blogs help him get away with it. And I don’t see how you avoid the implications of the following Clark paragraph, as full of lies and paranoia as the one later is full of innocent blood:
