Say hello to the newest member of the Frog Pond
Does Casey count as a Democrat?
better vote for cheesecake, just to be safe.
Good mornoonevenight, everyone! My answer to the question: I love my rep, Raúl Grijalva, but loathe my senators, Kyl and McCain. Maybe the Pander Bear will be out of the picture next year after he’s humiliated in the presidential election. [looks for candle to light]
Has anyone noticed all the airbrushing in the satellite photos? For an extreme example, look at Greenland. (Note – not Google Earth – Google Maps. I don’t have Google Earth – it may be the same, but I wouldn’t know.)
Notice how someone took a big square tool and just blurred most of Greenland! What is being hidden? NASA routinely alters satellite imagery to cover sensitive installations, but that’s a big area. That can’t all be to cover a base. What’s up???
Directions:
Tah-dah. What do you make of that??
oy, that’s beyond unsettling.
Very odd, isn’t it??
maybe they’re trying to prevent us from learning about ancient microbes that are coming back to life in the thawed ice. [shudder]
Very interesting, Man Egee – thanks!
Maybe they found OBL?
I am represented by a congressman, in whose district I do not live. My home address does not actually allow for me to have any representation at all as all three beings to whom I am zoned are among the Zombie Republican from Hell contingent. Fortunately, when I need to mention a position, there are three representatives whose offices I can call where someone will listen politely (and at least two of them will in fact note what I have said and pass it on to the congresspersons involved, which is kind of cool and is a new thing for me. I do not delude myself that this is because I am personally special, however, and I am quite aware that the vast majority of US citizens with my banking activity levels have less than no voice at all.)
Still – I read once where a call or letter from a constituent was treated in Congress as if it came from 10,000, because so few people ever write or call about anything. So you might be having more of an effect than you imagine!
I’m sure I would be. It just wouldn’t be the effect we’d want to have.
Senators Cornyn and Hutchison would LOVE to have the opportunity to screw around with another ten thousand progressives…. they hang those letters on the wall like trophies. (And it’s one of the things they use to rally the base here, too — one ‘and I got five thousand pissed off letters from libruls’ line is worth, probably, fifty or a hundred grand (or more) in contributions from the wingnut contingent.)
Well, Barbara Lee speaks for me. I would happily vote for her for President if she ever decided to run.
Otherwise, I have Barbara Boxer who is ok. She’s had her ups and down. Diane Feinstein, however, I equate with pond scum and the pond scum might actually be better.
Of course, I am also stuck with Arnold Gropenfuerer for Gov., so life isn’t all peaches and cream. :>)
Argh. I’m not a big fan of Feinstein’s, but I’d take her over any Republican. She’s not a very progressive Dem, but she’s not at all the worst of the bunch. But Boxer is indeed a standard setter. She and Feingold are my Senate favorites.
Ugh. Schumer and Hillary. Enough said. Oh, John Hall in the House (a Dem), for whom I did phonebanking etc.
love or loathe…depending on the particular subject both.
rep: udall: good on the env and energy, war supporter…annointed candidate for allards vacating seat….small ‘l’ libertarian tendencies, a mini v of salazar if elected, l think…
DINO sen salazar… founding member of ‘the gang of 14’..and a voting record nearly identical to allards’…nuff said
sen allard [retiring ratpub]…not worth the electrons
living in a deep blue zone of a purple state…and hillary/obama haven’t got a snowballs chance in hell here, and could very likely drag some of the other races down with them.
gonna be a long year.

Sen Sessions, what can I say? except that he makes Shelby look good. At least Shelby answers his mail.
Jo Bonner is a fool & a loyal Bushie, but “people” find him likeable. I don’t find anything likeable about someone that votes against workplace safety for popcorn workers.
I don’t loathe any of them but I certainly don’t like them either.
My rep is Baron Hill who is pretty much a DINO but still better than the idiot repub he replaced.
Senators are Bayh (mister place it safe) and Lugar (for whom I actually have some respect).
It appears Bayh has moved to the right of even Dick Lugar – see the vote on Lieberman/Kyl and is snuggling up close to Hillary. Dammit, all three new congresscritters are DINO’s. But, I have to agree, better than what we had. Not much tho.
Yeah, the new reps are definitely disappointing … about the only good thing about them is they gave the dems the majority (for what that’s turned out to be worth).
What I’d like to do is clone Vi Simpson and have her run in every race.
Senators
* Dianne Feinstein (D)
* Barbara Boxer (D)
Representatives
* Wally Herger (R-2)
And all of ’em just the way I like ’em – in another country. Now, if only we could convince politicians to go live on another planet . . . .
Feingold-Hooray!
Kohl-urgh, but at least he’s a Dem.
Kind-eh, but again a Dem.
