I guess we need one of these. What’s on your mind?

I didn’t know that Homer Simpson was a seminal part of grunge rock in the 90s. I just learned that from tonight’s Simpsons episode. And Marge used to be hot.
What do you mean “used to be”! You know we love that big hair here in the midwest;-)
got a fever of 103…
I’m dying…Okay, that was dramatic, but I’ve been shivering for the last 8 hours. I can’t get warm. To make it all even worse is that this is the 4th time in the last 2 months that I’ve been sick.
Sigh…
My goal now is to steal my laptop back from my husband and watch the Lost: Missing Pieces mobisodes tonight.
Aw, poor thing. It’s times like this where you really need a wife and/or mother instead of being one. Hope you feel better soonest!
Have your husband warm you up. Forget the mobisodes!!
screw the laptop and take a hot bath
Well, I wound up watching Matrix Revolutions and Clueless and I drifted in and out of sleep. Now, I’m definitely going to take a hot bath. I ache all over! And my throat is now sore.
Overworked and underplayed. That’s how I feel. I just want some fun time. I worked four weeks in the last three at my ‘day job’, hah hah. Was going to make a bunch of calls for Obama today but fell asleep on the couch for a few hours. The best laid plans, and all that.

Finished watching the second of the Lord of the Rings movies with the family yesterday. Demetrius found all three videos at a local thrift store a few months back, but we are just now getting around to watching it. I think Demetrius and I actually watched the first film together when it came out on video, and it took us several evenings to finish it. My response once we finally did get to the end of that movie was, “What?! All that, and they still haven’t gotten rid of the damn ring yet?”
No, I never did read the books. Anyway, by this time, I now know that there’s this trilogy of three excruciatingly long films, the second of which has neither a beginning nor an end (by traditional, plebean, movie viewer standards.)
I am kind of looking forward to finally watching the third one, but I don’t imagine we’ll be getting to that tonight. Probably not until next weekend, actually, since I teach in the evenings.
I never read the books either. I enjoyed the films while I was watching them, but never felt the need to watch any of them again, and I often watch films again.
Please – Read the books. They are so much better than the movies – all of them.
Has anyone seen Cloverfield? I took my son last weekend and we loved it. Don’t let the hand held cam thing stop you this was not Blair Witch. It has special effects and people who didn’t smoke the money Mom gave them for acting lessons. Not that there is anything wrong with that but smoking the money and then being in a movie does everyone a disservice. Not least of all Mom. Who now has to watch her obviously high daughter or son pretending to cry and be scared in a tent. All without the benefit of any acting lessons. Hmmmm….actually it was scary in its own way but Cloverfield was way better. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
Aliens?
Yes or no? 😮
Maybe……..

I’m losing respect for Paul Krugman. He’s exhibited an over-the-top dislike for Obama that smacks of something way beyond professional. But this latest column tipped the balance for me. I no longer respect Paul Krugman. He’s smart on some topics. He’s great on some. But on Obama, he’s just blinded by rage, to the point where he supports a lie over the truth.
All the news shows in the last week pointed out that the Clinton’s depiction of Obama’s statements re Reagan were flat-out untrue.
But Krugman says hey, that’s okay. That’s just politics.
Exaggeration is politics. Selective quoting is politics. But deliberate misrepresentation? That’s called lying, and it’s just not right for one Democratic candidate to do that about another.
What about lying does Krugman find acceptable? That the other side does it, therefore it’s okay? That’s not the party I represent, or would support.
In my calls today, several people noted the lies the Clinton’s had told as their reason for switching recently to Obama. They get it. Krugman is so blinded by his distaste for Obama he’s lost rationality.
I predict that soon there will be many more “Krugman” unleashed against Obama. This campaign IS indeed like none other. There is one issue that is now part of the political discourse that many important bloggers dare not go near, that could make or break Obama. It relates to the current simmering and very real warfare between American “fundamentalist” Jews (aka ultra-Zionists, ex. Foxman, the PNAC gang) and American “moderate” Jews (aka simply Jews, ex. Soros.) – LINK
So, what does Cheney have in that damned Man-Sized safe anyway?
