Thought One:
How many people do you think are going to say to themselves tonight as they watch the debate “What’s this world coming to when an uppity, unpatriotic, Muslim negro gets to run for President?”
Thought Two:
Whatever happens tonight, regardless of how many lies are told by Johnny Mac, expect the pundits to say that McCain did better than they expected and therefore won the debate. Why? Because it’s part of their job description, that’s why.
Thought Three:
Remember when Republicans employed the mantra “markets are smart and government is dumb.” Bet that slogan wouldn’t work so well this year. Still, I’d love to have someone ask John McCain if he still believes, like his hero St. Ronald “Welfare Queens riding in Cadillacs” Reagan did, that “Government is not the answer to our problems; government is the problem.”
Except there is one wild-card in this race and that is that the press in now at war with John McCain and his mysterious running mate.
Being a pessimist I expect them to revert back to their old habits of being suck-ups and sycophants for the Maverick Man.
Yes on #2 that will probably be a big theme too.
There are those looking FOR a reason to NOT vote for Barack Obama.
Then, there are those looking FOR REASSURANCES about the vote that they’ve decided already to cast for Obama.
