yes I was even though you don’t believe it, as the banks’ refusal to lend, as well as treasury’s rewarding them for eating smaller banks even when it’s not necessary, clearly demonstrates.
Now if congress forces the banks to, you know, use our money as it’s meant to be used, i’ll be happy to be wrong. But so far, my predictions have borne out.
Well, why would Newt be calling cuz, a known Democrat activist in GA? Yes, that Newt. I suggested the call be returned pronto, so we’ll find out why Newt called, what’s up. And just in case you’re thinking.. it wasn’t a wrong number dialing…
man, I hope he pulls it off. regardless of any policy disagreements I may have with Obama, a victory like this (knock on wood) would be so. fucking. SCHWEEEEEEEEEEET.
WASHINGTON – Barack Obama’s campaign has approached Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel about possibly serving as White House chief of staff, officials said Thursday as the marathon presidential race entered its final, frenzied stretch with a Democratic tilt.
[.]
The Democrats who described the Obama campaign’s approach to Emanuel spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to be quoted by name. An aide to the congressman, Sarah Feinberg, said in an e-mail that he “has not been contacted to take a job in an administration that does not yet exist. Everyone is focused on Election Day, as they should be. “
we need to keep a lid on this type of speculation. Time enough to wait for Nov. 5,
I don’t get why Rahmbo would do this. He could he Speaker in a few years. Isn’t that more powerful than COS for a President? Especially considering Rahm is not even 50 yet. Something smells fishy.
Obama and Axelrod know better. If this was behind the scenes (and it was) the fact that folks on Rahm’s side leaked this is a bad, bad sign of the jockeying to come.
The only worse choice than Rahm Emanuel is literally Steny Hoyer. Maybe this is the price Rahm exacted from Obama for his help from an Illinois source, but it’s too high a price to pay if you ask me. This is a Village Sensible Centrist move if I ever saw one.
If the folks Obama plans to surround himself with are DNC insiders, then surprise! Obama’s already playing their favorite game: Screw the Progressives.
Good, very good. Obama’s been ahead in the polls by double digits for some time now. Supposedly, he’s up by almost 20 in Wilkes-Barre and Scranton, which is very conservative, Reagan Democrat territory.
McCain and Palin campaigning together failed to fill Hershey Arena, a minor league ice hockey venue in the most Republican part of the state, a couple of days ago, and not that they didn’t try to fill it; the campaign even called to invite us, a writer of left-wing letters to the editor and a former Democratic committeeman, conspicuously poor prospects.
Palin campaigned badly today. In State College, the president of Penn State sent an emissary to arrange a welcoming ceremony and was told the campaign knew he was a Democrat and wasn’t interested in being welcomed. In Erie, in the NW corner close to Cleveland, she congratulated the crowd on the Phillies winning the World Series and got booed by the base.
IOW, if we don’t win Pennsylvania, blame the voting machines.
.
Looks like Obama & team know what they’re doing: Red states shrink.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
prediction: you will never admit I was right about the bailout.
you weren’t.

It’ll be Obama landslide. How do I know?
Things are desperate.

perhaps he merely wanted cuz to be aware of the possibility of saving money on car insurance…
no… wait…. that was something else entirely…
nevermind.
His office called my boss last week, a lifelong Democrat. He’s looking for money. Hahahaha
No, with my cuz…he’s looking for an organizer.
even fishtown old heads are considering obama.

Take Rahm out of the Senate speculation wrt replacing Obama…
Agreed.
I hope Obama looks to the most inside of the DNC insiders, Howard Dean.
I predict Obama will take Illinois.
Anyone in PA care to comment on McCain’s chances there?

I predict that Microshaft will f*ck up again with the upcoming Windows 7.
That’s not a prediction. That’s a certainty! LOL
