Yeah. And it’s dark and it’s going to stay dark for a long time and that’s a full-fledged bummer. 🙁

And on top of that, it’s thundering and lightning. I had to go rush CBtY out of the shower.

And that is why Indiana should be on Central time, not Eastern. ::whine pout whimper::

            maryb2004 on March 9, 2009 at 10:45 am

I was going to reply in astonishment to your earlier comment – because it was light here at just after 7:00.  But now I realize you’re on Eastern time.  That does suck. You should be on central time.

But I love DST.  I love that it stays light for a few hours AFTER I leave work.  I’m not a morning persons, light in the morning is useless to me.

AndiF on March 9, 2009 at 5:10 pm

I’m not that crazy about how late it stays light in summer either — that nightly cool down comes very, very late.

      • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on March 9, 2009 at 8:39 pm

Well, the party’s over…a dinner of ribs, homemade macaroni and cheese, broccoli salad, and cherry pie for dessert…

Actually, with CBtY, we reminisce about how I barely remember the labor pains, because I vomited my way through his birth instead.  To this day, my midwife is never without a vial of phenergan, and she even says it’s because of CBtY’s birth.

        TMI, I know.  🙂

Good morning and Happy DST! – NOT!

Nice photo – serene, but chilly, I suspect.

Happy Birthday to CBtY! Our 6 yo granddaughter shares the day with him. We celebrated yesterday with all-day activities befitting the little princess. I think Mom & Dad are worn to a frazzle. We left before the roller skating party, so no reports of sore bums as yet today.

    Stone walls traveling the hillside.

It’s been raining since Saturday; now we’ve got something between rain & snow. Altogether gloomy. Expect sheets of water everywhere to freeze shortly.

Hope everyone’s enjoying a good, late winter day so far. Thanks for the lovely pic up top!

What’s lovely about an old farm is that the man-made structures have been here so long that they seem organic.

We sure had some strange weather yesterday; the landscape’s a bit frostier today. However, the seaon’s snow continues to melt, rain continues to fall & we’re under a regional flood watch. Winter begins its hilly farewell.

Here’s this morning’s hillside view. Glad you’re enjoying them!

We got 1 box this year.  Thin mints.  All the neighbor girls are too old to sell them, and there’s no office temptation here…

I hear they keep well in the freezer, though.  And the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream recipe book can help you use them up too…

    • Indianadem
Indianadem on March 9, 2009 at 9:59 pm

I think Mrs. ID and I topped 10 boxes this year between our two offices and I just heard her order a couple more from our d-i-l yesterday. I fear we’ll bloat and float away if we don’t find another outlet for the things quickly. Guess I’ll pass along to all the worker bees at the office building.

I did the lighting and sound for Gilda Radner once.  She was absolutely charming, and tiny.  She was such an improviser that I spent much of the performance afraid she would call me out of the control booth and onto the stage as a prop.

It really is no contest at this point, unless they are outside and Luna decides to hurtle around like a nut-case, knocking them off their feet and rolling them over with each pass (her idea of “playing” with other dogs).  Then they usually pick some place next to a large object and lie down until the whirling dervish wears herself out.

What happens when you take on someone loads bigger than you is a good lesson for them to learn. Bebo is still working on learning that lesson with Giddy.

            Yep, they need manners.

I’ve intentionally been putting them in situations where mama will correct them.  Like giving Luna a pig’s ear treat (her favorite) that the puppies will try and take from her – until she growls and shows some impressive teeth to back it up.

At the risk of once again offending some blogosphere muckety muck – I don’t see why the people who rail against lack of transparency can’t be more transparent.
