Funny, as I was clicking the comment link, I said to my wife sitting next to me, “I think he’s an a-hole” — and then I see your comment.
Not only is he an asshole but he is truly out of touch.
Saying that the Finance Committee will be ready when it’s ready is up there with “let them eat cake”.

Judging by the Montana newspapers, he is getting less popular by the moment.
I feel about Baucus pretty much the same way I feel about anyone who lets people die because he finds it profitable to do so. I have less respect for that type than I do for ordinary murderers because your garden-variety killer at least faces some personal risk. Baucus? The worst-case scenario for him is that he might have to retire on a nice fat pension with full health benefits.
Max Baucus makes me wish I believed in Hell.

He is using the term “Bi-partisan” agreement as a means to do the Insurance Company & Big Pharma’s bidding. Their money speaks more than the will of people. To bad their isn’t some Roberts Rule of Order to remove Baucus for a few weeks.
