The Senate Finance Committee reconvened at 9:30. You can watch it here. I have to take one of the kids to the doctor. Let me know what happens.

So, what happened this morning?
I didn’t pay much attention to most of it this morning but there was an awful lot of slow-walking at every turn. If you have the schedule, they just argued about and voted down Hatch’s amendment re:Medicare Advantage and then approved Baucus’ substitute.
When they return from lunch at 2:30 they will get to Wyden’s amendment, which was originally scheduled before Hatch’s. That might be interesting.
I hope they get to a vote on Bill Nelson’s amendment today. That should be interesting.
the committee is back in session to consider Wyden-Carper (D-2).
I’m pretty sure that Sen. Jon Kyl is pretending to not understand what marketing is.
Ah juxtaposition is not his friend today:
“Well then frankly you’re calling some of us liars. I think that’s a true statement.”
yeah, that was good. and true.
Bunning is a fucking retard.
kyl amendment defeated on straight party lines – would’ve allowed insurance companies administering Medicare Advantage to send out misleading info to seniors.
Snowe voted for it?
I thought I heard Aye (she wasn’t sitting in her chair at the time so didn’t see body language if she was in the room but off-camera).
it was a 13-10 vote
