I nominate David Vitter as the politician least worthy of reelection in 2010. We’ve all heard about his diaper-wearing visits to cathouses, but that’s only a tiny fraction of the problem. The truth is, without George Allen and Rick Santorum in the Senate, Vitter is unarguably to stupidest and least effective member of that body. Have you ever watched Vitter perform in committee? It’s humiliating every single time. But I am sure you have your own nominees. Who are they?

Michelle Bachman

Mike Pence and Steve King come to mind.
Sticking to the Senate, I’m going with Inhofe.
I am stupid.
Booman asked about those unworthy of re-election in 2010. Inhofe’s seat doesn’t come up until 2014.

For pure obstructionist assholery, I’m going to nominate Tom Coburn.
me too…
i say throw ’em all out and buy a dog.
Guess you’re not a lobbyist or you’d do it the other way around.
i wish i WAS a lobbyist. I need some money. Doing good doesn’t pay shit, and good karma doesn’t pay the bills.
Kind of like choosing the worst member of the Manson gang — not really possible. But if there Can Be Only One, I’d have to go with Bachman. If we get a senator too, Cornyn is my guy.
McCain. Dude should hang it up already. And then get run out of town when he gets to any of his homes for inflicting Palin on the nation.
Inhofe.
not even bothering with repubs any more I’d have to say Blanche Lincoln.
Joe LIEberman
Richard Burr. Blech.
I second your nomination of David Vitter.
Louisiana deserves better.
So many unworthies; so little time.
Grassley
DeMint
Coburn
Vitter
Thune
Burr
Crapo
…in pretty much that order.
Your list is incomplete without Holy Joe on it.
He’s not running this year. The rest are.
Otherwise, he and a lot of others would have made the list.
I’m surprised that no one has mentioned Jim Bunning as the “stupidest and least effective” member of the Senate.
He does have some strong competition from Vitter, Ensign and Lieberman, tho.
He’s retiring.
These are just off the top of my head. If I had more time to peruse some of the votes from last year, I’d have dozens more, I’m sure.

And what the heck, if anything, do Burr, Isakson, and Crapo do? I watch C-Span a lot and I find it really odd that I’ve never heard or seen any of them making a speech or proposing legislation.
