All the way to the upset victory in Massachusetts and beyond. Prez, stay the course in mid-term election year 2010. Republicans have made Obama an ally through his call for bipartisanship and their unrelenting obstruction. They come out to ‘love’ him as his own base become disillusioned for failing major issues.
I have to laugh. They’re still worried about provisions of a bill, when the whole bill is virtually dead. Worry about the whole bill, for chrissakes. This has been the problem on the left all year long.
But each of those provisions is what makes the bill anything worthwhile .. WTF is the point of the bill if people can still get denied because of pre-existing conditions?
One could ask the same with the mandate. You can’t have a bill that tells insurance companies they cannot deny people coverage unless you mandate everyone get insurance. Then it comes down to “you can’t mandate everyone get insurance if they can’t afford it,” in which case you increase the subsidies, add public options, expand Medicare, etc.
We’ll see what happens.

How about just having health insurance agents with saps hitting people over the head and rifling through their wallets?
Obama needs to get his act together. There was an article saying that Orzag is open to extending the Bush tax cuts another two years. If Obama agrees to this then Obama is stupid. I am so sorry for working and defending this guy.

If you can see the cliff, then Obama can see the cliff. Either he’s doing what he wants or someone is holding a gun to his head. If the latter, it’s just a question of who’s holding the gun and what the caliber is. Ah, politics!
Could you please find a better analogy than gun to his head in regards to the president?
Obama cannot tell congress what to do. It is an equal branch of government.
What is going on new with health care is not unusual. It is a huge change and all the forces against it are out in droves.
Pressure congress.
Let’s wait and see what happens with health care before we slam Obama for whatever reason.
Thanks, Mitch, thanks so much. The President loves you too, and so do all his supporters. And I mean that, you crazy fascist tool. Now get out of here, I love ya!
(With apologies to Bill Murray.)
if I hosted Meet the Press I wouldn’t invite Peggy Noonan to opine.

"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."

Change you can believe in.
also wondering if you’ll go into the fact that so many UNION households voted for the Cosmo Poster Boy in MA.
that MAYBE, the tax on ‘ Cadillac’ healthcare plans…no, those folks aren’t going to bend over and just ‘ suck it up’.
From Mass.:

Keep giving to the rich and taking from the middle class. That’s a plan.

BTW the US Marines are out of Iraq.
…although they think they have. If Obama extends their tax cuts, I will be done with him, too.
And then I will ask myself, “Who else do we have?” Somehow, I don’t think Feingold, Franken, or Sanders will fly.
