Here’s an excerpt from the President’s upcoming remarks on the health care bill (via email):
“At stake right now is not just our ability to solve this problem, but our ability to solve any problem. The American people want to know if it’s still possible for Washington to look out for their interests and their future. They are waiting for us to act. They are waiting for us to lead. And as long as I hold this office, I intend to provide that leadership. I don’t know how this plays politically, but I know it’s right. And so I ask Congress to finish its work, and I look forward to signing this reform into law.”
So much for Scott Brown.
Great statement. I hope Fox will show that part..!
I just want this freaking bill passed. I am so sick of listening to Republicans lie about health care. I’m ready to hear them lie about the climate.
Replicans will be Republicans. I’m sick of Democrats making excuses.
And in the meantime? Time passes.
HOLY CRAP that was creepy.
This page loaded for me at the EXACT moment Pres. Obama got to this part of his speech live. I literally read the words right as he started saying them.
I should play the lotto or something today!
This would be the “Ali comes off the ropes” moment in the fight against Foreman (6th or 7th round?).
Obama has taken every punch the Republicans have, and has given them the chance to throw every punch they want to (the “Gang of Six”, “death panels”, town halls and tea parties, Senate filibusters).
Now they’re punched out and off balance. Barring something unexpected, the knockout (round 8 in Zaire) should come before the Easter recess.
Basically, this is the usual promise that we get from all of them. It looks as if time and money is being wasted for nothing. And, I am really getting tired of it. Sometimes, it’s much better to watch the Dancing with the Stars 2010 show than to watch the news on TV. Nonetheless, let’s see if how far will this leadership go.
