I’m in Indy with my mom — she’s having her second cataract surgery this morning. Lucky for me, one of her neighbors is a trusting soul with an unsecured wireless connection. I hope they don’t ever wise up. 🙂
Our computers do get personalized over time, don’t they? Our office is closed today for Veterans Day, so I got to sleep in a little. Hope for boran2’s sake the same tradition is practiced in NY:)
Sadly, the highlight of my day will be getting the rain gutters de-leafed before the next rain (should we ever get another). The good part is, I get to be outdoors in nice weather for a change. The predicted high is 72F with lots of sunshine.
Oh, I’ve got lots to do before winter but those can wait for the weekend. 72 degrees! We’re supposed to hit 60 on Saturday but nothing close to that. It’s been unusually cold here.
thank you!! I missed you all! very intense work schedule through mid Oct, then, travelling, no computer of my own and very slow internet connections in hotels where I stayed – or none. maybe some of the pictures I took with disposable camera came out, in which case will post. will attend to that today!! won’t say more now b/c have a surprise pic I never thought I’d ever get!
The Flog went up this last Friday (the 12th) so this coming Friday will be a little late. Next month’s will be on December 10 but if you don’t want to wait that long, we’ll be delighted to see your photos in the cafe. 🙂
Second your motion about the weekend. I’m still exhausted from election activities & the cold I picked up when the weather changed. Got a carport full of yard signs to clean & store, rain gutters to clean & sadly, a funeral to attend later this morning. I’ve got to make time for a nap later on!
My least favorite time of year arrived yesterday — gun season for deer.
On the bright side, it rained for over two hours last night which was the longest it has rained since June. And it’s rained once a week for the last three weeks so I hope that means the drought is starting to ease up.
Yuck. Do you wear bright orange on your morning walks? When I lived where there were hunters, I was always afraid that someone would shoot my dogs, so I kept them in more and we walked with leashes.
Yay for the rain. We had a gorgeous day yesterday, spent going to yoga and the farmers market and taking a stroll through town over in Phoenixville. They’re building the firebird for the Firebird Festival – it’s this big wooden phoenix that they light on fire.
I have a bright orange cap I wear. I used to worry about Giddy so she had a bright orange collar but Sniff and Bebo are too small to be mistaken for a deer.
Snow mixed with rain here. I learned an important lesson recently. If you adopt an animal, don’t let breakfast become their most important meal.
I have two new cats and made the mistake of serving them meat when I woke up the first day. Now it’s whiskers and claws telling me to get out of bed. And I used to think the 4 am birdsong chorus was too much. Hope I can fix this before the end of winter.
Believe it or not, our turtle starts scratching on his tank walls when he’s ready to eat in the morning. It’s amazing how persistent and how loud he/she can be.
I was surprised when we found out that turtles could have a personality. We had a neighborhood box turtle that was totally fearless, would be perfectly happy to trot around the house (the kids found him in the middle of the road one day), spent some time at summer camp with other turtles, came home and went free in the woods again.
For now our cats have a feeder – none of them are obese, so unless that becomes a problem we have a workable status quo. Now, that doesn’t stop the 4 am sessions where all three play “thundering herd of wildebeests”.
It is certainly comfortable to see some familiar faces. I used to frequent here many moons ago. Got into a bit of difficulty with a cyberstalker a while back, and gave up community blogs altogether for a bit. Anyway, I thought I’d come back under a nom de plume, and see how it goes.
Thanks. I wish my contributors would occasionally post there again, but alas I suspect that the stalker situation spooked them a bit too.
The one thing that seems a bit different now than in early 2009 is the presence of spam diaries. I noticed three of them last night when I came on. That can’t be a good sign.
If I only knew the magic words to incite you, Duke, and Arcturus to post a couple things here and there. Alas there is only so much time in a day, and I am betting that due to my work schedule, I’ll be making myself scarce in blogtopia again fairly shortly, with sporadic dispatches at best through mid-December. So it goes.
Just know you always have an open invite at my place in blogtopia.
My computer has been in the shop for the last week, getting a new screen, keyboard, and power cord (thank you, Applecare!)…but now I’m back!
BooMan tried to share his computer, but…you cna imagine how well that worked. 🙂
How is everyone?
I’m in Indy with my mom — she’s having her second cataract surgery this morning. Lucky for me, one of her neighbors is a trusting soul with an unsecured wireless connection. I hope they don’t ever wise up. 🙂
Got to get us both going. See ya later.
Hope everything goes well this morning! (And I’m glad your mom has such trustung neighbors…)
Good luck to your mom today. My mom had a very good outcome to hers when it was done years ago.
I hope that everything goes well today!
Wishing you Mom well, Andi.
Thanks everybody.
Everything went great.

It is! Off today with the b2boy. We’ll just take it easy today. Anything special planned?

Wow – 72!
Even if it is mostly sunny today, we’ll barely break 40.
But enjoy the day off – no such luck in my location.
Thanks ask! And thanks, too for the nice sunrise above:)
Olivia will put the diary up later. The theme is Random: your choice.
Looking forward to it.
Hi Everyone!
Errol! We’ve missed you around here of late.
Hi there! Sounds like you’ve been having an interestingly busy life.
You should post your surprise picture in Friday Foto Flogging.
good idea, should be ready by friday – and if it turns out photos didn’t turn out, will look for a fun substitute!
The Flog went up this last Friday (the 12th) so this coming Friday will be a little late. Next month’s will be on December 10 but if you don’t want to wait that long, we’ll be delighted to see your photos in the cafe. 🙂
Sounds like you’ve been having some adventures!
We’re looking forward to seeing that surprise photo. 🙂
Can I just say how glad I am that it’s the weekend?

agree with you about the weekend!
Good to see you! Can’t wait to see the photo!

I think half the people I know were YouTubing for Quadrophenia last night so the could honor the rain with a song;-)
the = they
Too funny.
I have a bright orange cap I wear. I used to worry about Giddy so she had a bright orange collar but Sniff and Bebo are too small to be mistaken for a deer.
Do you go to the festival? It sounds cool.

Our two can be extremely annoying, especially in the wee hours. Note to self: purchase small squirt gun for 2 am training sessions.

amazing
Wow.

summer camp with other turtles!!! was that what persuaded the turtle to return to nature?
No, it was the end of camp and time for all the turtles to either go home with their campers or head for the woods. 🙂
For now our cats have a feeder – none of them are obese, so unless that becomes a problem we have a workable status quo. Now, that doesn’t stop the 4 am sessions where all three play “thundering herd of wildebeests”.

Well, welcome back – whoever you are (were)!
Thank you. 🙂
Hope you see it go well.
(being a curious soul, I went over to your blog to look for hints but I got distracted by that fine set of contributors you have listed)
Thanks. I wish my contributors would occasionally post there again, but alas I suspect that the stalker situation spooked them a bit too.

another reason: they hardly write at all, even at their own sites 😉
Yes. I’d noticed that!

Hiya Manny. I hope that it’s good things that are keeping you away from us, Don Durito, and your own blog.
Welcome back!
Thanks muchly.

Hello Everyone,
The computer is working for a while, so I hope I can get the post through.
George and I are doing fine. In Dec. George will turn 103 (Human Years) and and I’m surprised he’s still spunky.
Everyone take care,
FM
Hi FM! Miss you bunches.
FM! So good to see you! Does this mean the computer is working well?
Hi FM!
Good to see you around – hope your PC stays with the program…
Good to see your (virtual) presence on the internet tubes.
How will George blow out all those candles? 🙂
I hope the computer works for a while so we get to see more of you!
A late-night rain shall lull this insomniac to sleep it appears. Peace.
Hope you get a good night’s sleep.
