       Suspect in attack on congresswoman faces 5 charges

       An unidentified man who authorities earlier said might have acted as an accomplice was cleared Sunday of any involvement. Pima County sheriff’s deputy Jason Ogan told The Associated Press on Sunday that the man was a cab driver who drove the gunman to the grocery store outside of which the shooting occurred.

   So grateful for Pima County Sheriff Clarence W. Dupnik crystalizing the message as just what it is – inciting by vitriolic hate, hour upon hour, day after day, on broadcast radio and tv, brings us to the reality of today – horrific mass murder.

   Don’t forget that Sheriff Dupnik is immensely disliked by the RWNJ’s.  Why?  Because he refuses to enforce SB 1070.  Basically, he is the opposite of his upstate counterpart.

   Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was awake in her hospital room and recognized her husband, several media outlets reported late Saturday.

   Giffords is now in critical condition in the intensive care unit and has been responding to doctors’ commands, according to media reports.  

   A prayer for Gabrielle, family and dear friends of the deceased, and other victims for a full recovery.

     Hospital Spokesman: Reports Of Giffords Being Awake Inaccurate

     Politico reported that a hospital spokesman said that Giffords is still in critical condition as of 6:20 a.m. ET and that her condition had not changed much since Saturday night. She was sedated as of 6:20 a.m.

   Tucson Tea Party Leader: We Won’t Change Our Rhetoric After Giffords Shooting

   Allyson Miller, a founder of the 500-member Pima County Tea Party Patriots, told TPM in an interview today …
   The race she’s referring to was between Giffords and Jesse Kelly, a tea party-backed Republican, who held one event in June that said “Get on Target for Victory in November Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office Shoot a fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly.”

   A man of faith and devoted to rule of law

   (Arizona Daily Star) – Roll had a long and distinguished career in the law, first as a prosecutor and then as a judge. He recently wrote a letter to U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Alex Kozinski asking permission to delay felony trials because of the heavy caseloads Arizona federal judges are handling.

   As a federal judge, Roll presided over numerous immigration and drug cases, but drew unwanted attention for presiding over a $32 million civil-rights lawsuit that illegal immigrants filed against an Arizona rancher. According to a 2009 story in The Arizona Republic, Roll and his family received death threats. Roll and his wife were given a protective detail after the threats.

   While Roll was well-known in his capacity as a federal judge, he was also a husband, father and man of strong Catholic faith, said Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson. Roll graduated from Salpointe Catholic High School.

   “Judge Roll was a person of great faith and great integrity. He lived his faith as a devoted parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Parish and St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Tucson.”

   “For many years, he would begin his day serving the early-morning Mass at SS. Peter and Paul. He proclaimed the Word of God as a lector at SS. Peter and Paul and St. Thomas the Apostle. He lived his faith as a servant of our nation for the cause of justice.”

   Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said Roll had just attended Mass and stopped by the Giffords’ event before he was to head home.
