The Pope said something nice and inclusive about gay people so, of course, K-Lo was immediately thrown into a flurry of activity to try to reassure people that nothing has changed and using your sexy parts in an unauthorized way is still a sin.
Her life must be miserable.
Jeebus!! Nothing of substance will change any time soon, yet the mere utterance of nice words makes K-Lo go bonkers? Miserable indeed!! I think that goes for most of the Right.
I think you’ve got that backwards.
The substance changes. It’s the accidents that stay the same.
I don’t watch Fox and I don’t think I could survive long if I did.
That’s actually worse than their, “Why would a Muslim write about Jesus? Huh? Huh?” nonsense. It’s kinda sad how fast they were able to limbo that bar.
(Also, how is it that Maureen Dowd is such a cretin?)
OMFG.
So, Wiener must not be attracted to his wife, because she’s an Islamist radical.
This Fox guest needs to watch more James Bond movies. Since when are international villainesses not hawt?
lol ~ only one non-hottie villianess I can recall in a Bond flick. Remember the pointy-toed shoes?
I’m sorry, what?
I was watching that Grace Jones/Christopher Walken judo scene over and over.
OK, so I’m sorry I clicked that link.
I normally watch Fox very little, but I’m finding myself drawn to their Bizarro Universe lately. On Hannity tonight, he spent the first two segments insisting that Republicans must Stand On Principle and refuse to fund the Federal government past the current September 30th deadline unless they fully defund Obamacare. According to Sean and his sycophants, which included Senator Rand Paul tonight, the Republicans need to reframe a possible government shutdown by saying “Hey, if the government shuts down, we didn’t want it to happen, but it did because Obama and the Dems wouldn’t compromise and kill health care reform!” Oookay…
The next segment talked about the strikes happening at fast food restaurants to demand wage increases. An awful woman from Fox Business News sneered at the workers and said McDonald’s franchises had no ability to raise wages without laying off workers or doubling the cost of a Big Mac. (The last prospect upset Hannity greatly.) She actually claimed that McDonald’s profit margins were not large enough to provide any other options.
Then it was time to tar and feather Al Sharpton, with audio segments from the late 1980’s leading the segment and two Fox-approved blacks helping catapult the propaganda. Next, Hannity tried to hammer home a link between the Weiners and the Clintons. This animated corpse of a show finished with another Fox Business correspondent flogging his book which hits insider trading on Wall Street. During the commercial, I thought “How are they gonna blame ALL of this on Obama?” I was actually pleasantly surprised to hear the author talk about how the market is rigged against the small investor, and almost no POTUS-hating to be found. They did sneak in a flogging of the Community Reinvestment Act, so the segment wasn’t completely absent of bullshit.
Greta Van Susteren led her show with breathless reporting on The Growing IRS Scandal. And that’s when I woke up.
She kept saying (back in 2006) that Rick Santorum would be re-elected ……. only to be turned-out of office by a 17-point margin.
Kathryn Jean Lopez’s one-handed typing over George Bush on Mission Accomplished Day is perhaps the Platonic ideal of the Bush-worship that consumed the right in this country for four or five years.
Man alive, K-Lo’s desperate rationalizations at the link are hi-larious. Makes me mindful of Steve King’s “drunk history lesson” on the House floor last week:

What did those first 20 minutes have to do with immigration reform? Or any rational argument whatsoever?
Back to K-Lo. Here’s the part of the pope’s statement which she was unable to rebut directly, but which must be absolutely unbearable for her:
“If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?”
How absolutely stomach-turning the Pope’s statement must be for Kathryn.
Hey people, if your gay or lesbian it doesn’t mean you are anti-christ, okay?and it doesn’t measure your faith to God…So please stop it!!! http://linkapp.me/x2phx
There are people out in the world whom I find interesting and I’d like to pick their brains about a variety of topics.
But not Lopez’s brain. It seems like it’s just a snarled mess of worms.
