Maybe the reporter wrote one too many blahs.
I suspect the reporter was remembering Rick Santorum and his remarks about “blah” people. Understandable, when dealing with these right-wing crackpots.
For decades, the GOP has been attracting too many candidates who are simply jerks. As a matter of fact, several of these jerks have been elected to state or federal office. These people are hostile and oppositional to anything that they disagree with, especially the Federal government. The current GOP party prides itself on exhibiting outrageous behavior and this behavior is then reinforced by the right-wing media and some MSM outlets. Until this behavior becomes a serious liability or is no longer “popular”, we’ll see more of it.
that’s true, Karl, but admit it.
That article is hilarious.
Conservatism has always been attracting jerks. Which isn’t surprising, since the core principle of conservatism throughout the ages — arbitrary hierarchical domination — only appeals to cretins and/or wannabe tyrants possessed of the worst instincts. This isn’t just a phenomenon of the New Right; pre-Buckley conservatives have always been putting out drivel that will turn your stomach.
