Chuck Norris took too many karate chops to the head:
The actor who starred in the TV show “Walker, Texas Ranger” wrote on Sunday that he thinks concerns about a possible military takeover of Texas might well be justified.
Actor Chuck Norris, who has become a prominent conservative activist, published a column on the conspiracy theory website WND that told readers not to trust what the federal government has been saying about a military training exercise known as Jade Helm 15.
Some conspiracy theorists have warned that the exercise, which is set to take place later this year in Texas and six other western states, may lead to a covert takeover of some of those states. Last week, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) ordered the State Guard to monitor the operation.
But what’s Governor Greg Abbott’s excuse?
Remember, with conservatives it’s usually about projection. If they think wants to take over Texas with the military it means they would take over a state whose policies they didn’t like, if they could.
Greg Abbott’s DHS Fusion Centers need to have a “come to Jesus” meeting with him about grandstanding — with his military adjutant being the point.
“Look, boss, your are not only being stupid, you are endangering people in your own state.” would be a good starting gambit.
I used to work where it was always hoped that Texas would slide quietly into the Gulf of Mexico. However, it was also believed that it would not happen because Oklahoma sucks . . . big time.
When I read comments made by the likes of characters like Chuck Norris and Ted Nugent, all I can think of is “Washed Up Has Been Wants Attention.” Politically speaking, the most outrageous characters like the above mentioned are Republicans. So their views are already skewed toward the absurd, and their need for attention just makes it worse.
They’ll keep yapping like annoying little dogs and the smart grownups will shush them until the story of the moment passes.
I would assume Abbot did so to try and placate the fearful and refuse the situation. My question is as panic increases will the military give in to the rightists like BLM did to Bundy?
First they came for the Texans and I said nothing…
Frickin Chuck Norris…
I don’t get it. Why would anyone want to take over Texas? I mean, there’s some nice people there, and some parts where the bugfuck quotient isn’t any higher than the rest of the country, but honestly? No thanks.
Some Texans obviously forget that the rest of the country doesn’t have nearly the high opinion of them as they have of themselves.
I wonder if Gov. Abbot is fit for office, his comments sound like he has a mental health issue. I can only hope he seeks treatment for his condition.
Texas, Illinois, California, and Florida all have about the same distribution of military bases. On Big Orange blog there have been claims that the majority of bases are in the deep south, but as the map in this link shows, the states with a lot of political clout have been on the receiving end of defense spending on bases, not exclusively, the southern states. The idea that Texas will be taken over is silly. It’s already ten percent occupied by the military in the same way Southern California, the Great Lakes, and the Northeast are occupied. Why would a government want to take over a region when the symbiotic relationship is well established with the local economies all humming nicely with the military sugar daddies well entrenched? https:/www.google.co.jp/maps/search/military+bases+in+the+united+states@37.6,-95.665,4z/data=!3m1!

Sorry, that link isn’t highlighted too well.
Someone 75 years old is in fact capable of having senile dementia. If you’re rich enough and ornery enough you can avoid assisted living and pretend to be independent. Ronald Reagan hid his Alzheimers as President in the White House. Those however were the years in which we almost got rid of nuclear weapons if it hadn’t been for Reagan’s aides yanking him back.
This much over the edge is (1) a search for relevance and notoriety in a dimming career; (2) an undisciplined agent; (3) an ad for speaking engagements; (4) a plea for help.
Chuck was in a movie called “Invasion: USA” (I believe) where Castro’s Cubans, Russians and North Vietnamese units invaded Florida. More propaganda, fear, hate, etc. It’s all part of the plan.
