David Bowie was my everything.
Maybe I’ll write about what he meant to me.
Maybe I won’t.
I’m still smarting from the loss of my brother less than three months ago. That would be the brother who introduced me to David Bowie and philosophy.
Carry On.
This wouldn’t be so bad and so sad, possibly, if we were getting new and improved versions of John Lennon, all 4 Ramones, Ronnie Van Zant, Frank Zappa, and others.
There are a couple of new bands that are sort of listenable…

Hard to believe. Blasted Bowie for a few hours today.
But the reality is that the dude was almost seventy. Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Roger Waters, all those guys aren’t going to be around that much longer, either. Better appreciate ’em while they’re still here.

I can’t think of anyone who was more or will be more iconic to me than Bowie….planet Earth has become a lonelier place.RIP David.

Bowie was from my time. I can’t believe he has passed, and I am reminded of how I felt when I was in college and got the news that John Lennon had died. He, too, had just released a new album, and I felt an immense sense of loss and sadness.
Bowie died with his family around him and was aware of his limited time left. He was amazingly talented and thoughtful, cutting edge in more than music, and he will be missed. He was a genius.
No other artist lived his final two years in registering his own
passing – a final statement, he registered the final curtain.
One of his closest friends, Ivo van Hove, working with him in the final
good-bye. Bowie left a message for his little girl 13-years old. Fabulous.

I’m going to miss that guy a lot.
David Bowie was one of the first cultural icons from my younger days, I was able to share with my younger daughter.
She loved the movie Labyrinth, which I’d never heard of, (not that much into movies).
When I saw Bowie in it, I told her he made music. When she heard his music she became a fan.
Bowie’s music helped bridge the gulf between a teenage girl and her slightly grumpy old dad.
