Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Cold Spring, NY scene. The photo that I’m using is seen directly below. I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5×7 inch canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
I began by painting some defining lines in blue. These will help me keep things in focus as I move things along. Then I started to paint some preliminary color on most of the elements with the exception of the house itself. Next week, some paint of thicker consistency.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
I’ll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.
Open it is.
Trying again with a foto flog. Sort of potpourri of photos this month.
Just an example of what I have been posting over at the latest Foto Flog.
Beautiful shot. I really need to keep up with things.
It’s Friday every day of the week, if you wish. That diary could still get rec’ed and folks could still put up some content. Might be nice to have something more positive on the Recommended Diaries list, given how toxic that has looked as of late.
This was one I took on a trip through the US outback with one of my daughters. She was testing out her new camera. This was one from my phone. I’m always amazed at what can be done with a cellphone these days.
All I have are my time lapse videos.
.
No worries.
Ha ha! You’re a really busy guy, nalbar.
Thanks for watching. It’s silly fun.

The eastern edge of mesa country is quite the striking contrast to the relative flatness of the landscape just to its east. This shot was taken near the Colorado/Oklahoma border just north of a town called Kenton. The town is practically a ghost town – population below 20. A couple bed and breakfast places still operate outside the town limits, and some astronomical photography buffs do visit the area from time to time as it is an ideal location for their particular hobby. Last time we were out that way, we got some good photos of some of Kenton’s ruins. Maybe will post those at some point.
Another photo from the same diary. This was taken by one of my daughters. Was quite thrilled when I managed to incite one of my young ones to become a hobbyist as well.
