If you’d asked me yesterday what the easiest way to kill a hundred million people might be, I wouldn’t have hesitated before saying, “Make John Bolton the national security advisor.”
Not kidding.

It’s really easy today to discern which of one’s friends and relatives are politically aware. Anyone not exhibiting signs of anxiety is not paying attention.
Considering his May entrance into the job, when the NK ‘talks’ are supposed to happen and the Iran deal to be looked at you just may be low on your numbers.
Terrifying.
No kidding.
And here I was told in no uncertain terms that Hillary Clinton would have us at WAR, Inc within nanoseconds of strolling into the White House, but that we’d all be super safe & sound with Mr. Pacifist himself, the Dolt 45.
Eh? Howzzat again?
Speaking as Not a Hillary fan, but I did hold my nose and vote for her.
Good luck to us all. This is not a good look.
I agree with that, and unfortunately unless someone has been paying close attention to politics to the extent that those of us who frequent blogs such as this here BT, I’d hazard a guess that the average voter doesn’t know who John Bolton is, has no understanding of what he’s capable of and the danger presented with him as National Security director.
Also, not too clear on how this works, but I hope as National Security adviser any decision Bolton might make is held to more checks and balances than just he and Trump.
Lastly, some have wondered, as I have, why Trump would pick Bolton knowing his anti-Russian past. But when it comes to blithely looking at war and its affects, and a macho approach to use of the military, e.g. just blow shit up, without thinking about the consequences, they are soulmates.
Now that’s scary.
