Sure, Trump ran on reducing our commitments to endless foreign wars. He also ran against some of Obama’s reductions in troop commitments. He also ran on the premise “we shouldn’t tell our enemies what we plan to do.” He also ran on the premise that we should be more willing to use first strike nuclear weapons as a tactical strategy. He also ran on the declaration that the United States should torture the family members of suspected terrorists.
So, Trump’s incoherent oscillations between the actions advocated by the staffer, friend or politician who has most recently flattered the President most convincingly is an unsurprising outcome. It remains sickening that regarding foreign policy, the two Congressmembers who appear most skilled in psychologically fellating the President at this moment are Senators Paul and Graham, two of the very worst human beings who hold political power.
. . . yourself from one sentence to the next — or even within the SAME sentence! — and no matter what you do, you can claim you “ran on” doing that. Just as you could if you did the exact opposite, instead. Cuz you “ran on” that, too!
Nice grift if you can get it (which the Worse-than-Useless Corporate Media seem to exist these days to ensure you can).
“I don’t think our foreign policy could be any more FUBAR.”
Hahahahaha….
just wait until next year. Worse than you think? It’ll be worse than you can think.
Good thing Lindsey Graham is there to protect us.
I can’t wait as all the Democratic candidates line up to proclaim how alarming it is to ever draw down troops, ever.
Because it’s now become a scandal to do so.
.
Agreed.
However I’d like to ask: When was the last time it wasn’t FUBAR?
